Plutarch · c. AD 46-after 119
Plutarch's Life of Galba covers Sulpicius Galba, the governor of Spain who was hailed emperor in the revolt against Nero and was killed in the Forum in the rising of Otho. It follows the revolt of Vindex, the plots of Nymphidius Sabinus, Galba's dependence on Vinius and Laco, the soldiers' discontent, the proclamation of Vitellius in Germany and Galba's adoption of Piso. It ends with the murder of Galba and Piso and the oath of the senate to Otho.
