Plutarch

Plutarch of Chaeronea in Boeotia was a Greek philosopher, biographer and priest at Delphi under the Roman Empire. His Parallel Lives pair a famous Greek with a famous Roman, beginning with the legendary founders Theseus and Romulus, and they preserve many local myths, cults and stories that survive nowhere else.
