Life of Timoleon

Τιμολέων

Plutarch's Life of Timoleon tells of the Corinthian general sent to free Syracuse and the other Greek cities of Sicily from tyrants and from Carthage. It covers his part in the killing of his brother Timophanes, the favourable signs that marked his voyage, his victory at the Crimesus river and his last years in Syracuse. It is paired with the Life of Aemilius Paulus.
