Actor

Actor was a common name in Greek mythology that was given to a number of different characters. One of them was the king of Phthia, son of King Myrmidon and Peisidice. Another figure with the same name was the son of King Deioneus and Diomede; this one was married to Aegina, daughter of the river god Asopus, with whom he had a number of children, including Menoetius, one of the Argonauts, and Patroclus, best friend of Achilles. Finally, a different Actor was the son of Oenops and sibling of Hyperbius, one of the defenders of Thebes in the story of Seven Against Thebes.
