Ἐπίνικοι

The victory odes of Bacchylides, sung for winners at Olympia, Delphi, Nemea and the Isthmus. They include the story of Croesus saved from the pyre (Ode 3), Meleager and Heracles in the underworld (Ode 5), the maidens of Proetus (Ode 11) and Peleus, Telamon and Achilles (Ode 13).
