Narrations

Διηγήσεις

The fifty Narrations of Conon, a mythographer of the late first century BC, as summarised by Photius in the Bibliotheca (codex 186). Each narration is a short account, in Photius' paraphrase, of a legend about the founding of a city, a cult or a custom, often with a rationalising or unfamiliar twist. The English is a new GreekMythology.com translation of Bekker's text of 1824; the citations in the notes are to Bekker's page and column.
