Parthenius of Nicaea

Parthenius of Nicaea was a Greek poet and scholar who lived at Rome in the first century BC. His Love Romances, a handbook of thirty-six short tales of unhappy love collected from earlier poets and historians, is the only work of his that survives complete. Many of the stories are known from no other source.
