Privacy Policy: Greek Mythology Explorer

Effective date: 2 October 2026
Operator: Internet Projects Ltd
Contact: info@greekmythology.com

Greek Mythology Explorer is a free, read-only connection that lets an AI assistant (such as ChatGPT or Claude) look things up on GreekMythology.com: pages, family relations, quiz questions, and videos or audio narrations. This policy covers that connection only (the server at https://www.greekmythology.com/mcp). Our website is covered by the Privacy Policy on the About page.

The short version

  • No accounts, no sign-in, no passwords or API keys.
  • We do not ask for, store or share your name, email, location or any other personal data through the app.
  • We do not store your conversations or the text of your questions.
  • The app only reads our public encyclopedia. It cannot change anything and cannot act on your behalf.
  • No ads or sponsored content are shown or returned by the app.

What the app receives

When you ask the assistant something that needs our data, the assistant sends a request to our server containing only the tool name and the tool’s inputs: a figure or topic name, a page address, or a number (for example “Perseus” or 5 questions). The assistant decides what to send. Please do not put personal information into these requests; the tools do not need it.

The app has no access to your chat history, memory, files or any other part of your conversation. The assistant and its provider (OpenAI or Anthropic) handle your conversation under their own privacy policies; we do not receive it.

What we store or log

The server is stateless: it keeps no session, no user profile and no per-user record.

  1. One log line per tool call. It contains: that a call happened, the tool name as sent by the client (for example get_figure), the type of client (chatgpt-app, claude-connector or mcp), how long it took in milliseconds, whether it succeeded, and whether the answer came from cache. It does not include the tool inputs, the question text, or the results.
  2. One log line when a connection starts (initialize): the client type and the first 120 characters of the User-Agent header the calling software sends. This identifies the assistant’s server software (for example an OpenAI or Anthropic user agent string), not you. If a person connects a custom client directly, that client’s User-Agent is logged the same way.
  3. Error messages. If a lookup fails unexpectedly, the technical error message (such as a database error) is logged. It does not include your inputs.
  4. Temporary answer cache. To stay fast, identical lookups (same tool, same inputs, same client type) are cached on Cloudflare’s edge for up to one hour. The cache key is a one-way hash of the inputs, and the cached value is the public answer, which contains only public encyclopedia content. The quiz tool is not cached.
  5. Network-level logs at Cloudflare. Our site and the app endpoint run on Cloudflare. Like any web service, Cloudflare processes the IP address of whoever connects to the endpoint (normally the assistant provider’s servers, not your own device) in order to deliver the service, block abuse and apply rate limits (which apply per IP address). These are security and operational logs under Cloudflare’s privacy policy; we do not use them to identify or profile individual people.

Operational logs are kept only as long as our hosting platform retains them, and we use them to keep the service working, to fix bugs and to count how many times each tool is used (to decide whether to keep running the app). We do not sell them, share them for advertising, or combine them with other data to identify anyone.

Links back to our site and tracking parameters

Results contain links to pages on GreekMythology.com. Every such link is tagged with utm_source (chatgpt-app, claude-connector or mcp), utm_medium=app and utm_campaign=explorer. These tags tell us, in aggregate, that a visit came from the app. They contain nothing about you.

If you open a link, you are on our website and the website Privacy Policy applies, including its description of cookies, Google Analytics and advertising. That happens only when you choose to click; the app itself sets no cookies and runs no analytics scripts or advertising.

Some results also include a link to a video on YouTube or an audio file. Opening those is your choice, and YouTube’s own policies apply to YouTube.

Sharing

We do not sell or share personal data collected through the app, because we do not collect any. Infrastructure providers process the technical data above on our behalf: Cloudflare (hosting, network security, caching).

Children

The content is general mythology reference material. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Your choices and rights

Because we do not keep information that identifies you through the app, there is normally nothing to access, correct or delete. If you believe the app has handled personal data about you, or you have any question, write to info@greekmythology.com and we will respond.

Changes

If the app starts to collect or log anything beyond what is described here (for example sign-in or saved progress), we will update this page before it does, and change the effective date above.
