4th century AD
Quintus of Smyrna, a Greek epic poet of the later fourth century AD about whom nothing is known beyond his name and city, wrote the Posthomerica, a poem in fourteen books that continues the story of Troy from the burial of Hector, where the Iliad ends, to the fall of the city and the scattering of the Greek fleet.
