Pausanias

Pausanias was a Greek traveller and writer of the second century AD, probably from Asia Minor. His Description of Greece walks through the sanctuaries, monuments and landscapes of mainland Greece and records the local myths and cult stories that were told at each place, which makes it one of the best sources for how the myths were tied to real sites.
