Heraclitus (paradoxographer)

Ἡράκλειτος

date uncertain (Roman imperial period, probably)

Heraclitus the paradoxographer, or mythographer, is not the philosopher of Ephesus; he is known only as the author of a short Greek handbook that rationalizes myths. Nothing certain is known of his life, and his date and even his full name are disputed; the work has come down in a single Vatican manuscript and was printed by early editors together with Palaephatus, whose method it follows.
