1st century BC
Diodorus of Agyrium in Sicily, a Greek historian of the later first century BC, wrote the Library of History (Bibliotheca historica), a universal history in forty books from the earliest times to the middle of the first century BC. Only fifteen books survive complete; the early books collect the myths and legends of barbarians and Greeks alike and are one of the main sources for Greek myth outside the poets.
