Learchus

Learchus was the son of King Athamas of Thebes and his second wife, Ino, in Greek mythology. He had a brother named Melicertes.

Ino helped raise the god Dionysus, who was the son of her sister Semele and Zeus, causing the wrath of Hera. To punish her, Hera drove Athamas insane, who during a fit killed Learchus. Athamas then pursued Ino and Melicertes, who tried to escape by jumping into the sea.
