Styx Picture

Styx is a cool name. In Greek mythology, she was also a naiad, which was a water nymph. Her name literally means Hateful , which is not surprising given the nature of the river named after her. There are lots of stories about Styx, one of them that Styx in her aqueous form (not the River Styx, confusingly) could determine virginity. Apparently, people could be dunked in her and when the water should have come up to knees but actually came up to the neck, the person in question wasn't a virgin. Which is a bit odd.
