Scarab Ascendant Picture

This is a variation on the traditional Egyptian symbology of the winged scarab pushing the sun across the sky.

I wanted to try something other than multicolored eagle's wings.

These are modeled after an atlas beetle's wings.

It's not exactly anatomically correct, as on a real beetle, the shell halves are actually a set of modified wings, and would open up in flight.

But I think it works.

I'm considering re coloring this now that I have a little more experience in Photoshop.

This was drawn and colored in Illustrator, and I used only gradients.

I think I can make this better.
