Pan hugging Syrinx Picture

I chose the story of Pan and Syrinx by Ovid. ^^ Pan was a Greek God whose lower part of the body looked like the one of a goat, and who was also born with a beard and horns. He fell in love with Syrinx, an nymph who didn't return his affection. When he wanted to have sex with her, she ran away and reached a river. As she couldn't cross it, she prayed to be transmuted into reed. However, Pan was so in love with her that he hugged her even though she wasn't a nymph anymore.
I think the ending of the story is rather sad... Pan heard her sigh coming from the reed and liked it so much that he cut the reed and made his famous flute from it.
