Pan Mythology Picture

Pan was mythical Greek God born with goat legs, feet, horns and a furry upper human body. Because of his unusual form he was ridiculed by the other Gods and so left Olympus. He was associated with Nature, forests and fields and was often found chasing especially one named Syrinx. He became enamoured by her and followed her to a river where she turned into a clump of reeds. Pan took some of the reeds and made his well known Pan-Pipes which he played to console himself.
