Children of the Underworld Picture

Well, since I did the daughters of Zeus and Hera and the daughters of Poseidon and Amphitrite, it only seemed naturally that I do the daughters of Hades and Persephone as well. These two were very fun to do and I think they just turned out lovely. They resemble their father more than their mother, but are certainly no less beautiful.

Macaria-While Macaria has her mother's features, her coloring is that of the Underworld. She is a goddess of a blessed death. In mythology, she was also linked to the Isles of the Blest. Some thought she was a more compassionate counterpart to Thanatos, god of death. I always imagine those two having an interesting friendship, or a possible one-sided affection. The younger of the two sisters, Macaria is rather tranquil and content. Always wearing a quiet smile or thoughtful expression, Macaria is content with her life in her father's realm, though she can't help but wonder what Olympus is like. Going there once a year just isn't enough time to sate her curiosity.

Melinoe-The first child of Hades and Persephone, Melinoe is her father's daughter. She is introverted, reserved, and can only take company for so long before she wishes to lock herself in her room and be alone. She tends to emulate her father and would rather wait and fade into the background and listen to gain useful information than speak, which is why she's kinda melding into the background here (that or I made the poor decision to put black on black). Melinoe is rather scholarly, often found in the library with a mountain of scrolls before her. She has no wish to leave the Underworld as she has little love for her relatives on Olympus. Yep, she is very much like her dear old daddy.
