Seven Sisters Picture

The group of stars in the middle, scientifically named Messier 45 or the Pleiades cluster. In ancient mythology they are known as the "Seven Sisters". According to Greek Mythology, the sisters were the daughters of Atlas and Pleione, and half-sisters to the Hyades, another group of stars. They are very easy to spot in the sky. Some people like to call them the Mini Dipper, because they resemble the Big and Little Dippers. They are also the logo for Subaru Motors. The slight discolorations are from the camera picking up faint effects of the Northern Lights. The Pleiades is definitely one of my more favorite things to look at.
