Hecate Picture

Hecate was a Goddess of the Underworld in Greek mythology. She was later associated with sorcery and witchcraft, haunting crossroads and graveyards, wandering only by night and seen by dogs, whose barking told of her approach.

Hecate was often represented with a pair of torches, a phial, a key (to the occult) and an athame, or dagger.
The pomegranate symbolises the Underworld, and the Theta symbol the lifeforce, or spirits, that Hecate watched over.

Here, I have taken the liberty of introducing some elements associated with Hecate's Norse counterpart, Hel, ruler of Helheim. These include the half white, half black hair, and the Ravens: Hugin (thought) and Munin (memory).
