Gaea_Painted with Watercolors Picture

This artwork was created for Dianae's art contest, with the
theme : Gods, Goddesses and Mythology at [link]

This is Gaea, or Mother Earth. She was the great goddess of the early Greeks. She represented the Earth and was worshiped as the universal mother. In Greek mythology, she created the Universe and gave birth to both the first race of gods (the Titans) and the first humans.

She is known by many names throughtout the great pantheon of gods: Aditi (Hindi Name), Ammavaru (Vedic), Citlalicue (Olmec), Coatlique (Aztec name), Danu (Celtic name), Eithinoha (Iroquois), Gaia (alternate spelling), Great Mother, Hou-Tou (Chinese Name), Izanami (Japanese), Jord (Norse), Mother Earth, Mother Nature, Nana (Dahomey), Neith (Egyptian name), Nertha (German), Ninhursag (Sumerian name), Nokomis (Algonquin), Pachamama (Incan), Prakriti (Brahmanic), Papahanau-Moku (Oceanic), Vaat (Siberian/Mongolian), Yo (Japanese);

Gaea has also been identified with Izanami of the Amatsu-Kami/Japanese Gods;

P.S. The background is in MS_Paint because my black water color paint came out dark green.
