Paean's Flower Picture

A peony bud, taken near the property of my mother-in-law.

The title derives from the Greek god, Paean, the physician of the gods. According to Greek legend, Paean angered his mentor, Asclepius, the god of medicine. To save him from Asclepius's wrath, Zeus transformed him to the peony flower.

This a (very late) birthday present for isa (~isiriu)!
