Pithos Picture

Total time: About 13 hours.

Inspired by the Greek myth of Pandora. The term "Pandora's box" is actually misleading—the original word used to describe the object she opened was pithos, referring to a large jar used to keep oils and food. When it was translated into Latin, the word was substituted for pyxis, meaning "box."

I wanted to create something more similar to the original idea. But um, I probably failed at that considering a pithos is supposed to be much larger with a wider mouth. *flails*

It is also probably sad that my favourite part is the sky, which is the part I spent the least amount of time on! I really loved working with all the colours, though~
