Dioscuri: I Believe Picture

The final version of my Hitachiin Twins picture. ^.^

It's called "Dioscuri: I Believe" for lots of reasons. One is because of the story of Castor and Pollux from Greek mythology. They were twins, and called the Dioscuri, but Castor was mortal. But we all know that twins should never be separated, and when Castor died, Pollux asked Zeus to allow him to share his immortality. And so, to keep these two very loyal twins from being torn apart, Zeus gave them both immortality to both by placing them together forever in the constellation Gemini. Another version says that their time was divided so that part of the time, they were together in Heaven, and the other part, they spent together in Hades. That part of the story particularly gets me. Pollux loved his brother enough to spend time in Hades, THE UNDERWORLD! Honestly, how many of us would go that far for our siblings?

The other part of the title, "I Believe," comes from the song "All Around Me" by Flyleaf. The part of the song it comes from is on the picture. This seemed appropriate for three reasons. 1) Hikaru and Kaoru would never leave each other's sides. 2) As can be seen from the story, Castor and Pollux would never leave each other, either. And 3) Someone once told me that they would always be there for me, and I believe them. And yes, they are very much like my twin.
