Perun, God Of Thunder Picture

Perun, the Slavic god of thunder, who my ancestors used to worship. He is associated with eagles, meteors, and oak trees. He is likely derived from the same proto-Indo-European deity as Thor, Zeus, and Indra. He is lord of the heavens, and is constantly in conflict with the chthonic god Veles, lord of the waters and the underworld. This is not a conflict representing good vs. evil, but rather the clashing of elemental forces.
