Poseidon Picture

If Poseidon exists, this is how he looks. Don't ask me how I know this... just accept it as fact.
Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea, was relied upon by sailors for a safe voyage. Greek mythology tells us that Poseidon lived on the ocean floor in a palace made of coral and gems. Poseidon is rumored to have been a very moody divinity (thus why we love him so) and his temperment could sometimes result in violence such as earthquakes, shipwrecks, and drownings.

So why is this kid Poseidon, you ask? Well, a bit of a funny story behind that. Ever since I saw Lords of Dogtown I've had this weird need to draw what I'd consider a typical 'California boy' with the blonde hair, the surfer look... When I saw this kid the first thing I thought of was the ocean, and of him ruling over it like a water god. And so he was dubbed the god of the sea.

I'm not happy with the photo of this piece. I don't know why it came out as crappy as it did, but the shading is really weird on the computer version compared to what it looks like in person... which is a crying shame because I really do like this piece a lot. Ah well.
