DEEP sketch: Hades Picture

I don't like creating big, overly elaborate, flashy or matchy-matchy characters. It's always rung too strongly of furries, crappy anime, and/or D&D for me. Unfortunately, this guy is big, flashy, and color coordinated. I tried to make him grungier and more human, with a mixture of barbarian and Victorian clothing that was formed partially our of carapaces and other fishy parts, but it wasn't working for this one. For one thing, logic kept getting in the way. Even when something is fantastical, it has to at least kind of make sense. I couldn't justify him sauntering around 10,000 leagues under the sea on human legs, wearing pants. Oh well. I'll keep trying.
