Sekhmet Picture

Sekhmet from the ancient egyptian pantheon. She was a goddess of warfare, protector of the pharaos and it was said the desert was created from her breath.

I'm alluding to a story where Sekhmet, in the shape of a lion, went on such a rampage that Ra feared she would kill all humans. So he tricked her by making her drink something that looked like blood, until she got drunk and stopped (I do think some interpret her as being a darker side of the goddess Hathor).

This was a fun picture to research for looks wise. I looked at several paintings and such of Sekhmet while sketching and putting down the colours. Egypt didn't use swords a lot, they mainly used bows, axes and spears, but the khopesh swords are a little too cool looking to not use, heh.
