Persephone Picture

The beautiful daughter of Demeter and the unwilling bride of Hades, Persephone lived two lives.

I originally wanted to do flames on the one side, but I realized that was a very Christian concept of hell, and Hades is not like that -- in mythology it is depicted as the absence of light and hope. I decided to go with a more gothic, darker Persephone to represent her role as Queen of the Underdark.

The background actually refers to Demeter, and how the world is in sweet Spring and Summer when Persephone is with her, and then in Fall and bitter Winter when she is gone.
