Bestial: Medusa Picture

My fascination with bestiaries is not new, but recently I've started drawing creatures with the illustrations of the medieval bestiaries in mind. There are a lot of gorgeous pictures here, and more lovely pictures as well as a ton of background info here.

The glorious Medusa! This is extra amusing as I am in a choir called Medusa.

I kept it fairly simple because the other two critters of this batch were a little more involved. She's wearing a generic Greek-ish tunic and holding a Spartan shield. Why a Spartan shield as opposed to a regular Greek shield, which is more appropriate as that is the shield Athena usually carries on which she keeps Medusa's chopped off head? It's more visually pleasing. Yep. That is my entire reason for that.

See my journal for a full list of all creatures.
