Arachne Picture

In Greco-Roman mythology, Arachne was a great mortal weaver who boasted that her skill was greater than that of Minerva/Athena, goddess of wisdom and crafts. Arachne refused to acknowledge that her knowledge came, in part at least, from the goddess. The offended goddess set a contest between the two weavers. The goddess was so envious of the magnificent tapestry and the mortal weaver's success, that she destroyed the tapestry and loom and slashed the girl's face. Ultimately, the goddess turned Arachne into a spider.

Normally, I'm against bases of any sort. But I stumbled upon this one and immediately my Greek mythology nerd compelled me to do something with it. I ended up redrawing most of it anyway.
I also decided to try out a new coloring style. It doesn't piss me off, so I might keep working on it. What do you guys think?
