Earth Picture

Freshman year of (sooo long ago!) we were studying the Greeks and Romans in our English class. For an assignment, we each had to come up with a mythological story explaining a natural wonder. I decided to do pearls, and came up with a rather cliché story about a forest princess who wandered one day to the edge of the land where it meets the water. There she and the prince of the ocean fell in love. Forbidden love, angry parents, yadda yadda. She dies, he collects her tears, and Artemis shoots them into the ocean to be protected by the oysters for all eternity. The End. Very cliché.

....So, this is the forest princess. I loved working with the deep, earthen tones.
