Spartan's Artemis Picture

Mixed Media collage using 8" x 12" chip board base. Made from cuttings, metal findings, bead fringe, cedar board, leather, pastel, acrylic, inks, and buttons. Conceptually concerns the Spartan Artemis, a fiercer version of the popular Greek Goddess. Many breasted, often black skinned, offered blood/milk/honey/deer skins. She once stood in one of the ancient world's great wonders, a temple with an interior forest made of gold long since melted by the incoming Christian missionaries.
