The Graces Picture

Aglaia, Thalia and Euphrosyne - Collectively known as the "Graces" or the "Charites" - were three lovely goddesses of Joy, Charm and Beauty. They were daughters of King Zeus and the Oceanid Eurynome.

Aglaia is the Grace that symbolized beauty and radiance; Euphrosyne is the Grace of joy; and Thalia, the Grace of blooming or flowering. According to the Greek poet Pindar, these enchanting goddesses were created to fill the world with pleasant moments and goodwill.

The Graces often attended to the goddess Aphrodite and her companion Eros. They loved dancing around in a circle to Apollo's divine music, together with the nymphs and the muses.
