Dioscuro Picture

The Capitoline Dioscuri, Rome.

The mythological twins Castor and Pollux (Dioscuri in Latin) were born (from an egg) out of the relationship between Leda and Zeus who came to her (no pun intended) as a swan. The infamous Helen of Troy was their sister. The brothers sailed with the Argonauts and Zeus rewarded their attachment by turning them into the Gemini constellation.

Took this photo while waiting for the rain to stop when sightseeing the museum and piazza, hence the overcast sky. I quite like the almost monochromatic effect and only discovered the seagull when downloading the image...
