A light on the water... Picture

This one reminds me of Tolkien's Grey Havens. It's a photo taken at Raglan, New Zealand - the tree in the foreground is a pohutukawa tree - New Zealand's christmas tree! In Maorie mythology the souls of the departed travel to Cape Reinga at the very tip of New Zealand's north island - there grows an ancient pohutukawa tree, and at his roots is the entry to Hine-nui-te-Po, the goddess of death and the underworld. Alternatively, perhaps their souls travel to the mythical homeland of Hawaiki, which is also out that way.

However that may be, I hope you like the photo!
