Contrast Picture

This is part 2/3 charcoal on paper sketches. I drew it as part of my first year architecture portfolio, 2010, for our abstract landscape project.

In this project we had create an area for mythical creatures - using symbolism and trees to define the space.

This sketch explains the universal myth of the Phoenix. I took a slightly different route on its representation, instead of the clichéd "bird of fire". The Phoeinx can be found in many mythologies, therefore I decided to make its abstract space a clearing in a dense forest with many paths towards it.
