Arawn's origins stem from the natural world myths of prehistoric Britain where he was protector of the land during Giamos (Winter) and he held court over the land while the Goddess was 'pregnant with Summer'. With the onset of Anglo-Saxon settlement Arawn began to become redrawn in prose and art as the Green Knight fusing elements from his mythology with the Norse Herne and Gwyn ap Nudd.
