The Eagle on the World Tree Picture

This is the fourth in a series of 5 illustrations for a uni project I did on myths and legends of eagles from around the world. The original paintings are pen, watercolour and gouache. I printed the images and made them into a book, the text with this image is:

In Norse mythology a mighty ash tree called Yggdrasill is at the centre of the world. At the top of this tree sat an eagle. At one of the roots was a serpent who was at war with the eagle and a squirrel ran up and down the tree carrying insults from one to the other.
