Penanggalan Picture

Penanggalan: a Malaysian/South Asian creature of myth--a semi-vampiric woman who, at night, detatches her head from her body, pulling her organs out the neck opening with it, and flies about the countryside in search of sustenance: often the blood of infants or women who have just given birth. Penanggal have the ability to (in some variations of the story) phase through walls or ooze up through the floorboards to find their prey.

I started this drawing last summer, but it was in my big sketchbook, so didn't get very far with it before it just sat around for a while. -__-
Feeling guilty, I decided to finish the poor thing up.
I hear "it looks like a woodcut!" and I love that look.
