Psyche or the Psyche (other-GK. Ψυχή "spirit", "breath") - in Greek mythology the embodiment of the soul, the breath, imagined in the image of a butterfly or girl with butterfly wings. In the myths that it was haunted by Eros (Cupid), she took revenge on him for harassment, it was the most tender love. Although ideas about the soul meet, starting with Homer, the psyche myth was first developed only by Apuleius, in his novel "the Metamorphosis".
