Persephone Contemplates Picture

I've been thinking about Greek mythology lately, and out of that wrinkle in the brain comes this picture.

Based on the myth of Persephone and the Seasons. Hades, the god of the underworld wanted a wife and finally persuaded Zeus to help him kidnap Persephone, Daughter of Demeter. Persephone was taken to the underworld to be Hades's wife. Demeter was so distraught about the loss that she brought drought and famine onto the world of mankind, to the point where Zeus had to either get Persephone back or watch Man die. It is a commonly known fact that eating any food while in underworld means you have to stay there, and Persephone resisted eating anything right up until the end of her stay, when she snuck three pomegranite seeds. Those seeds ensured that she had to spend one third of the year with Hades in Underworld. During that time Demeter is too depressed to care for the crops and it's winter. When Persephone returns it becomes spring.

So this is Persephone thinking about sneaking these pomegranite seeds. I watched a documentary about anorexia and found it interesting that they liked to go to the supermarket and touch and smell and handle the packets of food, as if that action somehow made them full. I thought if Persephone was trying not to eat to ensure she could return to earth, it'd be much the same for her.

Woo, fat writeup. Congrats if you read all of that! you get a star.
