my tattoo - take 2 Picture

A much better picture of my tattoo. The colour and detailing is more easily seen. This is as a good a view as you'll get unless you see the real thing - the colours are still better in real life than in any pic.

My very first tattoo of many more, it contains elements of slavic pagan mythology. The two 'birds' are the Sirin and the Alkanost, representing joy and sorrow in a yin-yang kind of balance. Situated between them is a hops vine, which represents life and creation - it's a 'tree of life' symbol.

edit - wow, this tattoo's on my back and this is the first time that I've ever seen this level of detail on it myself.
