This piece represents Ha-Adam ("The Adam"/"Humankind") from the Midrash, the first incarnation of humanity that was Adam and Lilith (or Adam and Eve, depending) joined back to back before they were split apart into Male and Female. My friend needed pieces for his upcoming gallery opening that featured mythological figures and their effect on society today. Since human sexuality is still largely influenced by our religious beliefs and many of those beliefs stem from ancient texts and accounts, I figured I'd do this.
