The Fall Through Ginnungagap Picture

There it is - my interpretation of "Ginnungagap" ("yawning Abyss"). In Norse Mythology this is the vast, primordial void that existed prior to the creation of the manifest universe.

In the northern part of Ginnungagap lay the ice cold Niflheim, and to the southern part lay the equally burning Muspelheim.

In the middle the two different powers did clash and so the very first Giant, Ymir, was born.

The three little persons on the bottom left are Odin and his brothers Vili and Vé. They're about to kill Ymir and will form the world from his bodyparts.

Took me one and a half day, so it's almost a Speedpainting for me.
