Ragnarok, pt.1 Picture

It's the first part of my highschool art diploma work. I decided to go with the task telling me to make a series of pictures about a myth from some country's mythology. I picked Ragnarök (the end of the world) from the Icelandic Poetic Edda and tried to make the paintings with Romantic style.

This picture shows the giants coming to Midgardr (land of the normal people) with Naglfar, a ship made of dead people's fingernails. On the foreground you can see can't remember who blowing in Gjallar-horn to notify that the end of the world is coming.

Painted with gouache on drawing paper (shame on my cheapness) in around 9 hours. I had 8 hours reserved for each picture so that's why I couldn't perfect the colours too well.
