Susanoo - In Japanese mythology, the god of sea and storm. Famous for causing his sister, the sun goddess Amaterasu, to hide in a cave, being banished from the heavens, and ultimately slaying the eight headed serpent Orochi, he recovered the legendary sword Kusanagi, which he presented to Amaterasu in repentance.

I redesigned him for the modern age as part of a project for a character design class. The sword & shield, along with the necklace represent the imperial regalia of the nation of Japan. The gold band on his jacket is actually the snake Orochi, the sword, Kusanagi, is stored in a hyper-demensional (hammer space/cartoon physics) pocket, accessible by the snake's mouth
