Kamadhenu - Hand-painted Picture

This is Kamadhenu, the wish fulfiller of Indian Mythology who gave whatever was asked by the seeker. The "cow of wishes/desires," has a bovine body, a female head, polychromatic wings like a tropical bird, and a peacock's tail. Her complexion is like the white clouds. Every part has a religious significance. Its four legs symbolize the 4 Vedas, and its teats the 4 Purusharthas. Its horns symbolize the gods, its face symbolize the sun and the moon, its shoulders Agni (the god of fire), and its legs the Himalayas.
