Fenrir Picture

Fenrir was born in very early 2009, and originated as a tattoo design for a friend. In this piece I wanted to capture the madness associated with the Norse mythological wolf Fenrir, consuming the Sun. The fur and flesh half of this image was intented not to look exactly like a wolf...but almost a twisted, almost surreal vision of a wolf. For this purpose I made the muzzle a little narrower and the eyes clouded, with over-definition around the eyes to give an impression of the deformed skull beneath. The tribal, I feel, represents the primal energies often associated with wolves.

Drawn usng graphite.
