Centzonuitznaua 1 Picture

In Aztec mythology, the Centzonuitznaua where the four hundred stars in the Southern part of the sky. Thus they are also called the Four Hundred Southerners. Each was a son born of Coatlicue, who, along with their sister, they attacked and killed for become impregnated by a ball of feathers. subsequently they are killed by the son born during the battle. However, though they were killed, the Centzonuitznaua still hung in the sky as stars and were said to do battle with the sun god every night thereafter. This is just the first in a set of three that I drew and then edited/colored in Photoshop, for the previously mentioned project.
